Silent mode, explained
How a 41 metre yacht can spend a night at anchor without running a generator, and what that changes for the people on board.

Most yachts of this size run a generator all night at anchor. You stop noticing the hum until it stops.
A battery bank the size of a cabin
Stille 41 carries a 1.2 MWh battery bank low in the hull. It runs the house loads, the stabilisers at zero speed and the galley for eight hours before a generator needs to start.
When it does start, it runs at its most efficient load, charges the bank and stops again. Guests hear it twice a night at most.
What you notice
Birds. Water against the hull. Your own voice at normal volume on the aft deck.
